Kasia Tobor - a handmade store with resin jewellery
Project: a handmade WooCommerce store for Kasia Tobor, where she sells handmade resin jewellery.
Challenge
Kasia Tobor makes resin jewellery - every pendant or pair of earrings is a separate, handmade piece. She spent a long time looking for someone to hand the store project to, someone with the same eye for detail she brings to the jewellery itself.
The problem was easy to name, harder to solve: the store had to be minimal and elegant so it would not overwhelm the product photos, while staying easy to navigate. She also wanted to run it herself, without calling a developer for every change to the offer.
Solution
I built the store on WooCommerce with a layout that puts the photos first. A calm background, plenty of space and product cards where the jewellery is the hero, not a backdrop for buttons. I arranged categories and subcategories so a customer reaches what they want in two clicks.
I added online payments, clear pages about orders, delivery and returns, plus a panel where Kasia adds products and edits descriptions herself. The store is responsive and she has run it from day one, with no help from me for everyday tasks.
Store colour palette
A muted palette for resin jewellery: navy and blue for structure, a warm accent and a cream background so the product photos stand out first.
Fonts used in the project
A geometric, modern typeface. It keeps category headings legible without pulling attention from the jewellery photos.
A humanist sans-serif. Product descriptions read well on a phone, where most handmade purchases happen.

A year and a half ago I decided to open an online store.
