Handmade logo for the Zatkalo Kakalo blog
Handmade logo Blog Store 2019

Handmade logo for the Zatkalo Kakalo blog

Project: a handmade logo for Zatkalo Kakalo, a craft blog and store, with yarn, knitting needles, colours and typography.

Challenge

The handmade logo for the Zatkalo Kakalo blog had to say at once that the brand was built around craft. The requirement was specific: the mark had to reference yarn and knitting needles, without looking like random clip art.

The logo was part of a larger project, because Aneta also received a handmade blog and store. The mark had to work online, in print materials and at small sizes next to products and posts.

Solution

I prepared several logo versions, focusing on a simple yarn and knitting-needle motif. I chose colours and type so they fitted the blog and store, rather than living as a separate graphic.

The result is a clear logo that can be used in the site header, promotional materials and store communication. It is a small element, but it holds the craft brand together from the first contact.

Store colour palette

The logo palette was chosen to fit the craft blog and store, without separating the logo from the rest of the site.

It was a great pleasure to once again work with my brother, Kamil, on a new website. As always, Kamil exceeded my expectations, creating a site that is not only better than the previous one but also fresh, elegant and perfectly capturing the spirit of my handmade craft. With great care he added features that are key for my clients - a blog, newsletter and store. Kamil proved again that he is not only a talented designer but also someone who approaches the work with great empathy and understanding. To anyone who wants their website to be not only visually attractive but also functional and consistent with the character of their business, I wholeheartedly recommend working with Kamil
